HOW TO PROPERLY FIT A HELMET

HOW TO PROPERLY FIT A HELMET

If your helmet doesn’t fit right, it’s not safe. Make sure you not only wear it, but also have it adjusted properly.

Replace your helmet:

>If you fall
>If you drop it regularly
>If the outer shell is compromised with dents or cracks
>Every 2 to 3 years. UV rays from the sun and age deteriorate the integrity of the helmet. Even if you kept it in a closet, replace helmets that are older than 3 years.

A properly fitting helmet should feel snug like a baseball cap. Head sizes and shapes vary, so if it feels loose or tight in the proper size, try a different brand.
1. Not too far forward
2. Not too far back
3. Tighten back clamp
4. Adjust sliders

5. Adjust buckle
